Stuff was one of Marina Ralph has presented Stuff, the self-modeling cabinet at London Design Festival 2009. Made of sycamore, plywood and latex sides, this cabinet modifies its shape with each new item you place inside it. Another creative and minimalist storage design comes from London based designer Helena Jonasson. The line of storage unit are called the Linie cabinet and Funkis drawer unit.
Linie is a small cabinet, with a black edge detail and gently curved doors, which draws on the cartoon figure ‘La Linea‘. The original character is illustrated as a single outline around his silhouette, walking on an infinite line of which he is a part. The ‘pinch’ of the curved doors shows where to open the doors, and adds softness and expression.

Designer Stanislav Katz is the co-founder of the Latvian furniture manufacturer Katz. Lately, they unveiled their latest creation on storage system design called 4 Vase Cabinet. It’s made by layering CNC cut MDF, sanding baack to a smooth form and lacquering whole surface, thus creating a smooth black finish. Form the Dutch designer Sander Mulder comes the sophisticating modular cabinet which resembles shipping containers. The individual pieces can be stacked and rotated around in endless (colour-) combinations, to create your personal container terminal for all domestic storage uses.

Ever wonder about future sleep system products? Karim Rashid might have started to deliver one of it by his NV Bed. This project made into reality by teaming up with Hollandia International. NV Bed which is currently under manufacture, has some features like drawers for storage under the bed and in the headboard, the all essential iPod docking station and cabinet doors in the headboard which can swing out for impromptu side tables.
This month, the Japanese designer Nendo will also be participating in Milan furniture fair. Their collection of cabinet designs will be performed: Collar and Hexagon. Both of the creatin are designed exclusively for Netherland manufacturers Quodes. The modular Collar cabinets are made of aluminum and MDF which its handles extend around three edges of each drawer. Another Hexagon shelving unit is made of powder-coated aluminum and steel, finished in black and white.
Nature has always provide simple ideas for designers to create. This curios curves of this Dune Lounge Chair from Skandiform is also inspired by the natural sand dunes. As the designer caught the sense of sitting in a sand dune, the furniture also gives a room character or emphasise the style of the room’s other furnishings.
The creator Jonas Lyndby Jensen is a qualified cabinet maker who is interested in materials and style of Nordic origin which has been studying at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen since 2003. Jonas has won awards for his Mjölner, Yacht and Valet Plate furniture designs.
