Contemporary LENA Light by Christian Strauss

The contemporary LENA light is designed by Christian Strauss from Germany.

LENA is a leaning light made of aluminium round pipe. The lamp has a finishing of liquid gum, resulting thereby a very pleasant haptics and matt black optics. A tilt angle contactor provides for the on/off switch inside of the lamp and it underlines the gesture of the leaning perfectly; the quicksilver inside of the tilt angle contactor inclines when the lamp is leaned on the wall or the furniture and merges thereby two contact parts providing smooth current flow. Therefore supplies LENA with direct or diffuse light only in leaned position

X-Ray light boxes are usually found at the hospital or other medical facilities. But now, it also can be found in your living room. Korean designer Won Suk Cho has delivered a series of lights based on the X-Ray light box. These lights are created by taking X-rays of single incandescent and compact fluorescent bulbs.

The images are subsequently mounted onto small black boxes which hang from the ceiling and once illuminated reveal their skeletal structure. The X-Ray lights look particularly striking when placed in a group.
