If you are both a bookworm and an interior designer, you should love these collections of book shelf storage designs. The first is the Piniwini book shelf which is a wall mounted storage with an ingenious balancing on the top of the peg. The next minimalist book shelf is the Tree Bookshelf from designer Shawn Soh. The book storage ideas was simple, trees not only can grow leaves and fruits, but also knowledge. The last one, was a clever book rest design which is also wall mounted. Bookrest gives your book a new and graphical expression while hanging and has a small hook for reading glasses.

Julian Meagher is a designer who’s since 2005 started to create children’s toys. Some of the creations include the roadster, aeroplane and motorbike. Designer Philippe Bestenheider has unveiled his creation of Nanook 3D Chair + Table for Morso manufacturer. It is a furniture collection consisting of a chair and a low table that reflects the creativity and the designer’s artistic approach. Inspired by the molecular geometry of a snowflake, the structure of the chair was made up. Colorful digitally printed fabric is upholstering the metallic frame, resembling the animal’s skin. The table is made of steel and designed in such a manner that another table can be attached horizontally to create a bigger table or it can be put one above the other to create a shelf. Via

Designer William Warren has unveiled his coffin-shaped shelving unit creation called Shelves For Life. Made from solid plywood, this unique shelving system is designed to serve your storage needs from now until the end of your life. As your time arrived, the bookshelf can be arranged into a coffin.
“Shelves For Life is a self-initiated project to further explore ideas of built-in sentimentality within our possessions. The aim is to make stronger emotional relationships with our belongings and encourage life-long use. The shelves are CNC cut in oak veneered plywood to the customers measurements. They are intended to be used throughout life as storage for personal belongings. On death, the shelves are dismantled and rebuilt as a coffin.” — William Warren

It’s an ordinary bookcase with rectangular shapes, but with a small twist. The bookshelf was rotated with 45 degrees angle an stacked in a casual way, thus performing a pyramid-like structure. Fitting, an Italian shelving and bookcases manufacturer have come up with the simple idea and resulted in a sophisticating product. They will be performing at the upcoming 2009 Milan Furniture Fair.
