Answering the problem, Katherine Semenko has come up with an interesting concept that she calls the Shine Birch lamp. Only 25cm tall, the lamp is made from matte plastic, has a base that can be clasped in one hand and gets the eye with its five luminous elements. Inspired by light penetrating underground caves, Italian designers from Studio06 created a pendant lamp called Fur?. The modern lamp has a smooth outer surface and a wavy, ridged interior. It’s produced by Italian manufacturers Biffi luce and comes in black or white.

Designer Antoine Laverdi?re has launched a series of animal lamps, assembled from slipcast ceramic figurines mounted on mouth blown glass shades and bases. Originally designed for the Montreal restaurant Le Club Chasse & Peche (which translates to “The Hunting and Fishing Club”), Laverdi?re has redesigned the series for small-scale production, available now on his website

Lucente delivered a new range of designer floor lamps called Arum which designed by Sandro Santantonio. The lamp flairs steadily upwards from a narrow base, ending in a giant, flower like opening. This ceiling mounted lamp design is intended to be?an artificial structure for capturing artificial light. Designer?Ross Lovegrove?dug the concept?of Netification; the reduction of physical mass through selective perforation across a pre defined form; the concept floats more as a diatomic sea creature in the free ocean of space.?

It floats in a state of apparent anti gravity, capturing its light within to graphically delineate a structural net as a soft external shadow of itself. Architect?Zaha Hadid?have designed a modern Genesy Lamp for lighting manufacturer?Artemide. He developed the lamp design based on the?organic development of trees, which he transformed?from abstract diagrams into Genesy?s fluid design. Genesy Lamp is the combination between simplicity and complexity?as it rises from the floor.?Like a growing organism, the central support sprouts branches that adopt a greater radial geometry to enhance the dymanic tensional forces of the structure.

Another innovative lamp design comes from British architect and designer?Nigel Coates. His series of lighting design are each called as Creatures, Corona, And Pacis. They’re manufactured by Italian lighting company Slamp, and has been?launched at Euroluce on 22-27 April 2009. Upon his?new collections, Creatures, Corona and Pacis, Nigel Coates explores ways of working with light and colour, to create witty yet affordable products.?
