The Cord Chair was originally designed in 1953 by a Canadian designer Jacques Guillon. Recently, it has been out of production for more than 40 years, and now a Toronto based manufacturer Avenue Road has announced that they will re-issue the chair, starting this August.?Constructed in a solid maple wood frame and finished with either a walnut wood veneer or black lacquer, the chair?s material integrity is true to Jacques Guillon?s authentic design. The seat and back are fully strung in either white or black 8-strand braided cord.

Made of wood-veneer offcuts, design student?Elisa Stroyzk?has created an innovative and sophisticating carpet design which she called as “wooden textile”. She discovered a new perspective to look over the wood material, they can be performed in different three-dimensional shapes.?The geometric pieces are laser-cut or cut by hand then bonded to a textile backing.?
